The 50 questions in this section were almost of the same level as were in NIMCET 2011. More than 50% of the questions were of moderate difficulty level. A few questions were difficult. Questions from each topic of mathematics ranging from Calculus to statistics were asked.

As the paper had negative marking, there was no need to attempt the difficult questions. In this section, it has been observed that there were three questions for which none of the given options were right. The time allotted for this section should not have exceeded 45 minutes.

Every year there are a few questions from Arithmetic in this section. This year there has been no exception. Of the 40 questions in this section, 5 were based on Arithmetic. Hence there were 35 questions on reasoning. The questions in this section were relatively easy when compared to what appeared in NIMCET 2011. The number of questions attempted by a student would be more in this section, than that of the Maths section. One can find few easy questions in arithmetic and hence the students should have tried to maximise their attempts. To summarise, this section was easy and less time consuming.

This section had 10 questions on computers. The questions on computer awareness in NIMCET 2012 were of average difficulty level. Some questions in this section are repeated from NIMCET 2008.

There were THREE questions on number system and 7 questions on computer fundamentals

The English section of the paper was easy to moderate.

The fill in the blank questions (10Q) had 1 preposition, 1 spelling, 1 pronoun, 3 usage,

3 tenses and 1 conditional sentence based questions. These questions were of easy to moderate difficulty level.

Apart from these, there were 4 synonyms, 3 antonyms, 2 spelling and 1 on sentence correction questions. These were easy to moderate.

This year no questions have been put up from Reading comprehension, Para Jumble and Analogy. The break up of the questions in the English section was as follows:

FIB - 10 questions

Synonyms - 4 questions

Antonyms - 3 question

Spelling - 2 question

Sentence Correction- 1 question

To summarise, this year the Maths section was moderate to difficult and questions on reasoning and computers were easy. The English part was of easy to moderate difficulty level.
