NIMCET 2018 PAPER ANALYSIS, ANSWER KEYS AND SOLUTIONS:

Date of Exam: 27th May 2018 (Sunday)

Duration of Test: 120 Minutes

Number of Questions: 120 (Mathematics 50; Reasoning & Arithmetic 40; General English 20; Computers 10)

Marking Scheme: 4 marks for each correct answer; 1 negative mark for each wrong answer.

MATHEMATICS

This section had 50 questions. The questions in this section were relatively difficult as compared to the ones in NIMCET 2017. Overall, this section was difficult. A good strategy for this section would be to solve easy questions and to avoid spending extra time working out difficult questions.

ANALYTICAL ABILITY AND LOGICAL REASONING:

Of the 40 questions in this section, 10 were from topics related to Arithmetic and the remaining 30 questions were from Reasoning. Overall this section was easy.

COMPUTER AWARENESS:

This section had 10 questions out of which 4 were based on number system.

ENGLISH:

The break-up of questions in this part is as follows:

Grammar - Eight

Reading Comprehension – Three

Vocabulary – Six

Verbal ability - Three

The Reading Comprehension passage had a word count of roughly 150, and it was a little complicated in comparison to the passage that was given last year. There were six questions in the vocab section and the majority were both straight forward and doable.

Grammar questions were seven in number and most of them were easy and uncomplicated ones. Only a couple of them could be termed as slightly moderate. Verbal ability questions were three in number and only one of them was a little knotty. The other two were pretty much straightforward ones.

Overall, it can be termed as a moderate section.
